I decided to do an update... it seems like no one is doing their blogs anymore... and I guess I'm slacking too.... My friends down here use MySpace and have never heard of MindSay.... So, I just got that set up....
My new apartment is pretty kick ass! I have my own room and my own bathroom! We also have a dishwasher, laundry down the hall, heat, air conditioning, and somewhat of a pool..... It's on the roof and kinda shaped like a dog bone... pretty small fits about three people... I don't think a person could really swim in it... but at least you can go up there and chill. My new roommate Paige is also pretty cool... we didn't really see much of eachother for the first couple months because I was working nights and she was doing days.... but... This past week I got a raise and somewhat of a promotion.... 13 dollars an hour baby! So, now I work noon-8pm monday through friday and I have saturday and sunday off... so, we both have the same days off now and she gets home around the same time so we've been hanging out quite a bit...
It looks like I'm going to be going to New York for a week or so in September... visit old friends, go to a classmate's wedding, visit my brother and my new nephews... and just enjoy the city I miss so much... As far as Washington goes... I'm guessing the next time I'll be back is Christmas.. a ways off..
Auditioning is going slow... have to work it around my menial job... No real bites yet. Agents are always telling me to lose weight and get new headshots... so I'm working on saving money for the pictures, and opened a gym member ship a couple months ago... just hard to force myself to go after work.. but I'll get there.
I would love to hear what is up with all of you guys! And what you guys are doing for the fourth. Take care of yourselves!
Much love,
Megan
Hey guys!
I just got off work and it's about 6am right now... I'm waiting for my roommate to get out of the bathroom so I can get ready for bed... I thought I would type an update about what has been going on with me.
I had my birthday last month... 22! Whoo hoo! I'm not really sure what is good about 22 yet, but it seems like a good year! My roommates through me a HUGE party and all the people I graduated from AMDA with were there. It was very cool! I love those people so much! We partied till dawn... and then with too much alcohol and not enough sleep I drug myself into work the next night, but well worth it! One of my roommates, Mia, got me a ticket to the Maroon 5 concert... which we went to last night! It was awesome! Phantom Planet opened for them, and I was pretty impressed... I bought their CD and have become newly obsessed. Maroon 5 was cool, they got interupted a few times from the many panties and bras that were being thrown on stage.... I'm not sure what the girls throwing them think the band members are going to do with them... just throw them away is my guess... but I guess its to show their appreciation? Needless to say, my bra and panties stayed securely in place... although my seat was so far back, even attempting to throw them would only result in hitting a poor bald man or 12 year old girl in the head...
Oh and about 3 weeks ago I found a Chihuahua running around in traffic and saved her... no one ended up claiming her despite my efforts so I took her to the vet for a check up... the vet informed me she had a heart problem and if I took her to the pound she wouldn't be adopted because of it.... so.... I now have a dog.
Also, I have to be out of my apartment by the 31st of March.... so I finally found a place to stay, but I can't move in until April 17th.... so, I'm moving my stuff, and going up to Washington for a while. I was going to fly, but found out that my dog's heart problem is bad enough that a flight may kill her... so I'm driving back... alone... scary... lol. But, I think it will be a good experience... I had to drive my friend Dan to the airport today... and then go back to work from there.... his directions back weren't very good... so I was lost in downtown L.A. for a while... but some nice man helped me find my way back to the 405 north and told me which exit to take... it worked out okay.
)
Anyway.... I think I had better get going... I have a ton of stuff to do today and I have to sleep a bit before I do it..... (Take my car to the dealership, go to Universal Studios with my roommate, packing, going to a movie with Garrett.. etc... the list goes on) Oh and a Happy Birthday to those B-days I missed Tom, Ryan, and Mikey! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
I've been thinking about updating this thing for a while... it just takes me forever to actually sit down and do it... So, here I am...
Well, December seemed to fly by... The first weekend of the month my friends and I went out to the Laugh Factory (a comedy club) and The Saddleranch a hip college bar/restaurant to hang out and get out of the rut we'd willingly put ourselves in... get up, go to work, come home, go to sleep.. It was pretty fun.. we got into the Laugh Factory for free because one of the girls we were with used to work there... but.. one snag... there was a two drink minimum... so I was feeling toasty after two glasses of wine. Then we got to hang out with the comedians afterward which was pretty cool. I got to meet Godfrey (the old 7-up guy who did their commercials. godfrey) His show was a blast, and he seemed like a pretty cool guy.
Then we headed out to the Saddleranch... and I had no idea what the hell that was... We walk in to see that the bar surrounds a huge mechanical bull with a blow up padding around it.... scary! All I kept thinking was, that would be hella embarassing to end up on that in the middle of the bar... but an hour later and another glass of wine, I had been talked into it buy three friends and the hot guy that ran the bull (but I wasn't going to pay for it damnit...lol so my friends forked over the cash)... sigh... they must hire from the abercrombie and fitch catalogue... the people were gorgeous, movie, college types... kinda weird. But I successfully rode the bull for a fairly long time... I could barely climb up there I was so buzzed. Good grief. After being thrown off the first time, I thought the achievement/embarassment was over... but was then told to get back on... oy vey....! I think I purposely threw myself off that time... But it was also a pretty successful ride....... though I still couldn't bring myself to say more than "Hey..." to the bull guy.. Ah well.
I walked to the back of the bar not knowing if I wasn't embarassed yet because of the wine I had had or because I had done pretty well... then an old guy grabbed my ass out of no where and said "Nice ride honey! We all enjoyed it!" I turned bright red and slunk over to my group of friends... My guy friend instantly told me I did a good job... and the girls agreed... so I decided to take it in stride... I went over to the stand and bought a t-shirt that said "I got bucked!" and another glass of wine. I think I best be more careful the next time I go out... I'll vote someone else to ride the bull...
Then the next week my roommates and I had a Christmas Party for our friends from school. It turned out to be pretty successful, tons of people showed up and brought food and drinks... We all had an awesome time catching up and everyone thought our apartment was awesome... (but cold, we are all contemplating electric blankets...) So much for sunny California.
Then the next day, we roommates exchanged presents... I got the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD, the Indiana Jones DVD set, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD... and we rushed over to drop my pet fish at Garrett's.. He was going to watch it while I was gone for Christmas. Then I find out the day after Christmas, he accidently killed it..
PPPPPP I was pissed...
Oh and at the beginning of the month, I had gone into my bank to deposit my work check and they had told me that my account was closed because I had written two bad checks... which turned out to be fraudulent activity on my account... The whole situation turned into a mess almost immediately.. I was under investigation and they even wanted me to pay them the $8,200 that my account was negative from the checks... So, my checks to my land lord and my bills all bounced..
It has been a mess... but it was actually resolved today after hundreds of phone calls! I now have a new account and my money again.. thank goodness... Good greif that was a hastle...
Christmas was good... we went to my aunts Christmas eve party and then everyone came here on Christmas day and we did our exchange.... it was weird..... when you don't know who you're buying for it is hard to find a gift that whoever recieves it would like.... I bought two dvd's and put them in the pile... I ended up with a fleece blanket. My mom got me an electric blanket though!!!! and the 3rd season of FRIENDS and the 4th of Sex and The City.... so that was cool. But the best part was two days later my dad told me he was going to buy me a car... He showed me a volkswagon jetta he had found..... One problem... it was a stick shift.... and I have no idea how to drive one.. but I pretended that I did because I didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth... But when we went to look at it in person he decided to take me to the Toyota dealership and I asked him if he could take me to the Volkswagon dealership instead... and I ended up coming home with a 2003 Automatic Volkswagon Jetta in Alaska Green and fully loaded... I'm definitely happy! I'm just waiting for my insurance papers to be mailed out. Also, the latch on the gas door is broken so the door won't close... I have to have it fixed, but I will probably have to take it to the Volkswagon dealership in California to do it because they will have to send out for the door.
But the sucky part is, that in the mean time I haven't been able to drive it without insurance... so I've missed a few parties... and seeing friends while I'm home which bites. I hope that it will all be remedied soon. I'm still not sure when I'm heading back to Cali... looking like the 14th now.. but it could be sooner.
I hope everyone is doing well!
Megan
